Day #19
Date: Tuesday, August 11, 2015
Departure: Elko, Nevada
Destination: John Day, Oregon
Miles: 607
WE HAVE TRAVELED TO
FORTY SEVEN (47) STATES
and
WASHINGTON STATE WILL MAKE
FORTY EIGHT (48)!
WE JUST HAVE TO GET THERE........
210 Miles Between Gas Stations.
After driving 30 miles there was a sign that read,
"Next Gas 179 Miles"
WE WERE AT A POINT TODAY THAT IF WE DIDN'T FIND A GAS STATION
OUR BIKES
WOULD LOOK LIKE THIS
IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!
BIG HUG!
Everyone's gas lights were on.
Grandpa put in 5 gallons (he is pulling a trailer).
Jase put in 4.7 gallons.
Ben put in 3.9 gallons (He got 50 miles per gallon).
But it took
slowing down to 55 miles per hour
and praying the last 60 miles

We were trying to get a receipt in California.
We stopped at a liquor/grocery store.
IT WAS CLOSED!
Then we went to a wine tasting gift shop.
IT WAS CLOSED!
But they said they would be back at 2 o'clock.
So we waited and waited and waited.
SUCCESS!
Then we jumped on our bikes and headed to the great State of Oregon
We were so excited to get going again that
Jack jumped on the back of Jase's Bike by mistake
and Jon was driving!
YIKES!
Then I jumped on the back seat of my bike by mistake
and Jack was driving!
Double YIKES
Now everyone is confused.....
but Ben......
But why would Ben want to get on a bike that looked and smelled like this?
I kept running over cow pies with my trailer and throwing the muck up at Ben
Now on to WinneMUCCA, Nevada
But Ben kept getting a whiff all day long.

MIDDLE OF NOWHERE
Denio, Nevada
They used to sell gas about 5 years ago.
We stopped to get 5 bottles of water
and 5 candy bars.
The two young girls working in the store said that they get an average of 15 customers a week.
We went out side to take a break and placed our candy bars on the table.
Two black cats immediately jumped on the table and started licking our candy bars!
We chased them away and wondered what they eat in this dry-forsaken place?
Just then, a little bird flew into the window
and dropped to the ground, stunned.
It was put out of its misery
Instantly!
Question answered.

The difference between genius and stupidity is that
genius has its' limits.
The difference between beauty and ugly is that
beauty has its' limits.
(That means that ugly has no limits between Lake View and Burns, Oregon)
