SERIOUSLY!
Some guys might qualify for anger management sessions.
Some guys would cuss and throw things.
Some guys would take a baseball bat to the offending beast.
Nope!
Not Jase!
HE JUST KICKS ROCKS!
All bets are off on the guys making it back home
in 16 days or less...
Now the bets are on to see if they
are going to make it home at all!
CORRECTION!
The lady is the owner, along with her husband, of
LC's Cycle Repair since 1988 in Anderson, South Carolina.
She is standing by "Mitch" one of the mechanics in her shop.
They gave us permission to put their photo on our blog.
Diagnosis
Bad, Bad Valve Stem came lose
and made the tire go flat.
He charged $10
Grandpa paid him $30
HERE'S THE REST OF THE STORY.....
Every thing was going fine;
Snacks in Johnson City, Tennessee
Lunch at Cracker Barrel
in Arden, North Carolina
Flat Tire on Jase's Special Edition Goldwing
Lucky for us;
It happened right under the underpass!
I-85
We put our thinking caps on
And called the police
They called the Mechanic
He called the Harley Davidson Store
Apparently they don't work on Mondays!
He called the Kawasaki Store
Apparently they are also closed on Mondays!
He called "Mitch"
HURRAY!
They stayed open just a little later to assist those poor Utah/Idaho boys
We have provided STICK FIGURES
To help you understand the logistics of getting the fixed tired back to the northbound underpass
Study carefully and begin at LC's Cycle Repair
(found on the lower left)
Grandpa drives 20 miles out of his way to try and find LC's Cycle Repair
(20 mile route not included in Stick Figures)
Grandpa finds LC's Cycle Repair
He carries the newly fixed tire on his motorcycle back to the northbound exit
There is a major traffic jam on the northbound freeway
(he later discovers it is a wreck miles ahead)
Grandpa is in a panic!
He decides that he just doesn't care and he pulls into the
BARROW PIT
along the side of the freeway (see below)
and away he goes passing all of the stopped vehicles on the northbound freeway
He drives seven miles north to find the next exit
He merges onto the southbound exit and travels who knows how far
down to the underpass where the boys are waiting
and waiting and waiting to the tune of three hours!
No exit!
Grandpa is in a panic
He pulls to the the side of the southbound freeway
Puts the tire over his head
Runs across three lanes of southbound traffic
Jumps the southbound guard rail
Runs through the
BARROW PIT
Jumps the northbound guard rail
Runs across three lanes of northbound traffic
DELIVERS THE FIXED TIRE!
Runs across two lanes of northbound traffic
Jumps the northbound guard rail
runs through the
BARROW PIT
Jumps the southbound guard rail
Runs across three lanes of southbound traffic
WHEW!
Gets on his big Yellow Goldwing and heads
south
on the southbound three-lane freeway to the next exit north!
