| The Great Lakes temperatures are FREEZING! Today's destination: Massey Ontario Canada 20 miles west of Sudbury on Highway 17 |
It all started with the time change;
- Wisconsin said 6:00am which was really 5:00am home time so by the time we found a place for breakfast it was too late for the breakfast menu....so we had hamburgers for breakfast.
- Customs into Canada was a long 30 minute wait
- Then.....narrow roads, one lane, maximum speed 55 miles per hour which we rarely hit because the roads were so crowded. However, we got great gas mileage today!
- 12 hours in the saddle and only 500 miles to show for it!
- But the scenery was gorgeous; lush trees in between two Great Lakes.
- Car dealerships out in the middle of nowhere....weird!
- 25 towns, population 50 to 100, 30 miles apart
Today's new friend is the owner of STOBIE'S DINER found along the upper shores of Lake Huron. Super nice guy! He is a motorcycle enthusiast and custom cycle builder. His family settled the valley in the 1800's. Lunch was delicious.
WILDLIFE
- 2 black bear
- 2 deer
- 13 dead raccoons
TODAY'S ROUTE
- Began at AshLand , Wisconsin then on to Ishpeming, Michigan
- Highway 2, Highway 41, Highway 28 into Canada at Sault Ste Marie then Highway 17 along the upper shores of Lake Huron
