Favorite Saturday Ride

One of our favorite things to do on a Saturday is to ride our motorcycles to Hurricane and have breakfast or lunch at the Main Street Cafe. We head off through the Washington Fields, travel to Washington City, pass through Coral Canyon and turn on to SR9.  Sometimes we take a right to Sand Hollow reservoir and see how many people are out on the water and out riding their four-wheelers on the sand dunes. The road from Sand Hollow takes us into Hurricane. The Cafe is located at 138 South Main Street in Hurricane, Utah. The Teriaki Burger, grilled by owner, Kevin Talbot, measures a healthy 6 inches off the outside grill, hangs over the sides of the bun and comes with this amazing sauce, grilled pineapple, tomato and lettuce.  It really is too big for one person but it can be done and so worth it. If you arrive before 11:30 in the morning you can enjoy the Prairie Dog. I know the name can be deceiving but it is this delicious waffle complete with two sausage patties, whipped cream, two scoops of ice cream and bacon sprinkled over the top. Of course you can enjoy the omelets and other traditional breakfast items but the ice cream on the waffle is really worth the try.  And if the food wasn't enough you can enjoy it all out on the patio.  It really doesn't matter what time of year you arrive because each season boasts its own beauty; hummingbirds and hanging potted plants in the spring, autumn leaves and twittering birds in the fall.  The cafe is small and off the beaten path and wouldn't be noticed at all if it wasn't for the locals sharing their "best kept secret".
